Raised Without Antibiotics – What That Means for You

Nature’s Promise turkey earns the “raised without antibiotics” label because our partner farms never administer antibiotics at any stage of the bird’s life. This commitment supports both animal welfare and public health by reducing antibiotic resistance risks.

Our farmers rely on biosecurity protocols, proper ventilation, and low-stress environments to keep flocks healthy naturally. You get poultry that’s traceable, transparent, and free from the routine drug use common in conventional operations.

Vegetarian Diet & Humane Farming Practices

Every turkey we source is fed a carefully balanced vegetarian diet – grains, soy, and minerals with zero animal by-products or rendered protein. This clean feed regimen results in milder, naturally sweet meat that cooks evenly and stays moist.

Our partner farms provide birds with open barns, natural light, and space to move freely. Independent audits verify that handling, transport, and processing meet strict humane standards at every step.

Cooking & Storage Recommendations

Fresh Turkey

Store fresh Nature’s Promise turkey in the coldest part of your refrigerator (32–34°F) and use within two days of purchase. For whole birds, allow one pound per person; plan 24 hours of thawing time per four pounds if starting frozen.

Frozen Turkey

Our frozen turkey maintains peak quality for up to one year when held at 0°F or below. Thaw in the refrigerator – never at room temperature – to preserve texture and food safety. Cook to an internal temperature of 165°F measured at the thickest part of the breast and inner thigh.

Moist and flavorful every time
I switched to Nature’s Promise turkey two years ago and won’t go back. The breast meat stays juicy even when I overcook it slightly, and the flavor is so much cleaner than conventional brands. My kids actually ask for turkey now.

Great value for antibiotic-free
I was paying twice as much for organic turkey until I discovered this line. Same quality standards – no antibiotics, vegetarian-fed – but priced for weekly dinners instead of just special occasions.

Perfect for meal prep
I roast a whole turkey breast every Sunday and portion it for salads and wraps all week. The texture holds up beautifully in the fridge, and it’s lean enough to fit my macros without feeling restrictive.

Kids love it in tacos
I use the ground turkey for taco night, and my picky eaters don’t even realize it’s not beef. The flavor is mild and naturally sweet, and I feel good serving them antibiotic-free protein.

Common Questions About Nature’s Promise Turkey

Our core Nature’s Promise turkey line is raised without antibiotics and fed a vegetarian diet, but it is not USDA Organic certified. We do offer a separate Nature’s Promise Organic turkey SKU for customers seeking certified organic poultry. Both lines meet our strict humane-farming and clean-label standards.

Raised without antibiotics means our farmers never administer antibiotics to the birds at any point in their lives – not for growth promotion, not for disease prevention, and not for treatment. This practice supports animal welfare and helps reduce antibiotic resistance in the food supply. Independent third-party audits verify compliance on every partner farm.

Store fresh turkey in the coldest part of your refrigerator at 32–34°F and use within two days of purchase. Keep it in the original packaging on a tray to catch any drips. If you need to hold it longer, freeze it immediately at 0°F or below, where it will maintain quality for up to one year.

You can roast turkey from frozen, but it will take approximately 50 percent longer than thawed poultry and may cook unevenly. For best results, thaw frozen turkey in the refrigerator – allow 24 hours per four pounds of bird. Never thaw at room temperature, as this increases the risk of bacterial growth.

Cook all turkey cuts to an internal temperature of 165°F measured with a meat thermometer at the thickest part of the breast and the innermost part of the thigh. Let whole birds rest for 20 minutes after roasting so juices redistribute and the temperature remains safe throughout.

Nature’s Promise ground turkey is typically a 93/7 lean-to-fat ratio, meaning seven percent fat by weight. Turkey breast is leaner – often 99 percent fat-free – but ground turkey’s slight fat content helps it stay moist in recipes like burgers and meatballs. Both options are significantly leaner than ground beef.

We partner with family farms across the United States that meet our humane-animal-treatment and antibiotic-free protocols. Every farm undergoes regular audits to verify compliance with our vegetarian-feed requirements, barn conditions, and processing standards. You can find farm-region details on select package labels.
